LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed its concerns as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) convened an important meeting to address the ongoing bad weather and rain conditions in Sri Lanka, sources said on Sunday.
The ACC will work under the light of those considerations as the Asian cricketing body will assess their options.
The idea is to select a venue where there is no chance of rain in the coming days so the matches can be played without any interruption.
Once the new venue is finalised, the ACC will inform the PCB.
It must be noted that the PCB had already expressed their concerns about the impact of rain on the Asia Cup but ACC insisted that matches should be played in Sri Lanka despite the rainy season.
Earlier it was reported that the ACC is likely to take a decision in the next 24 to 48 hours to shift Asia Cup 2023 matches from Colombo due to rain and bad weather.
The matches are to be shifted to Dambulla or Pallekele, the report stated further.
According to BBC Weather forecast, thundery showers are expected in Colombo for the next 15 days and the Asia Cup Super Four matches including the event's final are scheduled to be held there.
It must be noted that the ACC is already under heavy criticism for organising the matches in Sri Lanka knowing that it always rains there during this time of year.
Earlier on Saturday, the most anticipated match of the Asian event between India and Pakistan was interrupted by rain and the Green Shirts didn't get a chance to bat as persistent rain thwarted their chances of chasing down India's target of 267 runs in Kandy.
